This Fragment has no internal cooldown and gives even more energy if the target is a major, proving up to 50% energy if you kill a slowed boss. I get that some of these weapons are insane for damage, or have amazing effects, but I don’t want to see the day when we actually have to embrace the darkness.Whisper of Refraction : Defeating slowed or frozen targets grants you class ability energy.Īny slowed or frozen targets you defeat while this Fragment is equipped will recharge around 10% of your class ability. We already partially do that just by killing anything anyway. I don’t want to do anything that could help the Hive or justify their ideals. I don’t want to be complicit with sword logic or tithing, even in a purely representative way. I thought it was interesting that they were bringing this weapon into the game, but as soon as I read the lore tab, I didn’t want to use it. I like to unlock these weapons and keep them in my vault/inventory because in a silly way, I imagine my Guardian in the world of Destiny holding on to them purely to keep others from using them. It’s almost like the more we use them, the more influential they are, and the more Bungie might make more story elements for them, and one day we might go down this road of darkness that people talk about. This could also inspire them to make other weapons of sorrow in general. Like with the case of WotW, they can even come back much stronger (or with their original strength). On Bungie’s end, if they see these weapons getting a lot of love, they might bring them back in future updates, maybe the same, maybe re-imagined. I feel like we could be affecting the story in a small way. I’ve always been hesitant about using weapons of sorrow. If we become dependent on these weapons then we may find ourselves with nothing but sticks and stones to defend ourselves with. As far as we know, only the paracasual nature of the Light can harm the Darkness. And whose to say that the Taking of Weapons is limited to Hive weapons? Why not Vex weapons? Or Warmind weapons? As tempting as it is, I am sure we cannot fight Darkness with Darkness. The weapon isn't Thorn anymore than Whisper of the Worm is Black Spindle.īut if these ultimate taken versions exist, then perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised when we see the final evolution of Necrochasm, or Bad JuJu, or Touch of Malice. He even went on to say that taking on the Shadows of Yor would be a fight we wouldn't even be able to win at this point in time. There was an interview, a while ago I'm afraid, that confirmed that the weapon wasn't Thorn. Thorn has been taken, infused and twisted with Darkness, not simply tasting it. This, I believe, is what has happened with Thorn. In becoming Taken, one cuts away the weakness they bore in life. In taking the Black Spindle, in giving it new logic to abide by, in infusing it with the power of the Worm, our God, the Spindle became something more. But unbeknown to them, or perhaps known, there is a layer of evolution beyond. It peaked, supposedly, when the Daughters of Oryx fashioned it into being a pinnacle of woe. Their weapons grow with them.īlack Hammer was a weapon that grew in power. That is why the blade is revered by the Hive. But they themselves aren't the only thing to grow with death and the keeping of tithes. The Hive exist within their own logic cast down to them from the Worm their God. I would also like to state that I think we were wrong. With Forsaken on the horizon and the exotic weapon preview released, I would simply like to state that Weapons of Sorrow should never, under any circumstance, be trusted. I'll keep this brief, as I know you all are very busy. What's Rasputin's favorite dance? "The worm." >!What's Rasputin's favorite dance?
